Ways to Deliver
You can deliver Uber Eats with a bicycle, scooter or car.

Uber Eats Windsor Driver Pay
You are paid a flat rate for picking up and dropping off orders, as well as a fee per kilometre and per minute fee. The Uber Fee, or Commission, is 15% and is taken off your fare. This may change based on Uber’s dynamic pride model in your location.
During peak times Uber may offer a pay “boost”. This is where Uber Eats uses a multiplier to increase your earnings. If an in-demand delivery area advertises a multiplier, like 1.7, then your fare is multiplied by 1.7 and increased by 70%. The Uber commission is only applied to your fare, not the boost.
You can accept tips in cash or customers have the option to tip you in the app after the delivery is made.

Sometimes they are way off on the distance or the boost pay isn’t quite right. Maybe their commission seems too high?

Insurance Requirements
Uber Eats drivers are on their own for insurance. Only rideshare drivers that transport passengers are covered on delivery trips as well as their regular UberX trips. If you drive one of these services also, then you are covered under their commercial policy.
You are required to maintain your own personal insurance policy though and submit proof to Uber when signing up.
Most insurance companies require you to disclose to them you are using your vehicle for commercial purposes. Before you start driving, you should talk with your insurance company or agent for more information.

FAQ
Do I need an insulated delivery bag?
You can buy a bag from their third-party supplier for approximately $6.50, plus shipping. It is important to note that though it is not mandatory, some restaurants may not allow you to pickup an order without a bag, particularly when delivering pizzas. Either way, the cost is pretty low.
For a bicycle, the cost is approximately $45.00 and almost certainly something you are going to need unless you have one of your own already. You usually won’t get pizza orders as a cyclist.
Do I need to sign for shifts?
No need to sign up for shifts. Just log on and accept “Pings”, which are on-demand requests for deliveries. Accept or decline requests and log off whenever you want! Uber states you must keep a satisfactory acceptance rate or you will be deactivate but there are conflicting reports about this actually happening.
Are there a minimum number of deliveries I need to do to stay active on the platform?
No, but if your documents expire (like your driver’s license) you will need to upload them again before you can start driving.
What happens if the customer doesn’t answer the door when I arrive?
Contact the customer by phone first. If they don’t answer, a timer will start and after have 5-8 minutes you can leave and will still get paid the full fare. You can keep the food too!
How do multiple orders work?
Sometimes you will pick up more than one order at the same time from the same restaurant. In this case, everything remains the same except you get a drop-off fee for each location you deliver to. Of course, you will be paid the extra kilometres you drive and the extra time it takes but you will only be paid one pickup fee.
Is there an orientation, interview or “onboarding” session?
No, everything is done online or you can you go the Greenlight Hub closest to you to sign up or get help if you need it!
