Facedrive Toronto: Guide to Facedrive Driver Requirements

Move over Uber! Toronto is about to welcome its second ever rideshare platform to the city. Since their introduction to the Toronto transportation scene in 2014, Uber has held the number one spot when it comes to “taxi” rides. Now, they face new competition from a company with a different perspective on rideshare that could revolutionize the industry. Introducing Facedrive Toronto!

Facedrive launched their service in Toronto on October 19, 2017. They promote sustainability by offering rides from electric, hybrid or gas powered cars, which allows riders to choose the size of the carbon footprint produced by their public transportation needs. The company also takes a percentage of the fares from Hybrid and Gas powered trips and uses the funds to help plant trees to offset CO2 produced during the ride. They are also focused on offering drivers the highest rates per mile as well as the opportunity to benefit from cooperative profit sharing.

If Facedrive isn’t your thing give Lyft or Uber a shot!

A Cleaner and More Profitable Rideshare Platform

One of the biggest differences with Facedrive compared to Uber is that they offer cooperative profit sharing program. Drivers who have been active on the platform for 12 months in a row and have positive ratings are eligible to receive shares in the company! It is also mandatory to make at least 80 trips per month during the initial 12 months to participate in the program.

Facedrive has set aside 25% of its company ownership for driver shares and you will also receive dividends which could be quite lucrative if this company gives Uber a run for its money!

Along with a lower carbon footprint and profit sharing, Facedrive partners will also earn 85% – 92% of the trip fare plus tips. Driving with Uber you will only take home 75% of your trip. This is big difference in pay especially when you factor in your ownership in the company, though it is too early to tell how lucrative that investment will be. The platform also features a minimum fare of $5.00 and guaranteed cancellation fee of $5.00.

Facedrive Flexibility

You can still drive with Uber too if you want, as they company has stated directly there is no requirement for you to drive exclusively for them. This means the service still offers the same flexibility of turning on and off the app whenever you want to work.

Does Facedrive Offer Surge Pricing?

A Downside for drivers is that Facedrive Toronto does not offer surge pricing during busy times. This is great news for passengers but not so great for drivers as they will miss those big boosts coming from peak hours when there is high demand for rides and few drivers on the road. With profit sharing and higher per mile rates for driver’s, you will ultimately receive a larger cut being a partner with Facedrive!
